WE ARE BIG SALAD FREAKS, MAINLY BECAUSE THEY ARE SO VERSATILE !

5 healthy homemade salad dressings that are super easy to make, from creamy avocado to spicy peanut, lemony mustard and sweet sour tahini, these dressings might just make your salads dreams come true.

If you don't know it by now, you are about to find out that I am a massive fan of salads. I love how easy and nutritious they are : the perfect "drawer" meal. Toss any fresh or cooked veggies that you have with some whole grains, add healthy fats and a cooked protein, and you got yourself a winner. The perfect lazy yet delicious meal.

This dressing is sweet and sour, with a delicious kick. It's perfect for big autumn bowls with lots of cooked veggies and quinoa, or big fresh veg salads.

1/2 cup of dressing :

1 tablespoon tahini

1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

1 tablespoon maple syrup

Squeeze of lemon juice

In a blender, toss all the ingredients together and mix until smooth. Add salt and pepper to taste and store in a bottle in the fridge or use straight away !

GUACAMOLE DRESSING

Coating a big salad with this creamy delicious dressing is one of my favorite ways to eat salads. Avocado are full of nutrients and delicious to have in a salad. I love to have this sauce with finely chopped vegetables, so they get all coated in the delicious guac !

Makes 1 cup of dressing :

1 mashed avo

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 white onion chopped finely

1 tsp cilantro

Start by mashing the avocado really well, then add salt pepper, lemon juice and garlic powder until you get a thick creamy texture (you can add a bit of water if you want it to me more of a runny texture. Then add the chopped veggies !

LEMON AND POPPY SEED SAUCE :

This sauce is perfect for big salad bowls and the sweet and sour fans out there. It keeps perfectly in the fridge for weeks and really gives a kick to our meals !

IMG_1514.jpg

Makes 1 cup of dressing :

3 tablespoons of olive oil

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 tablespoon dijon mustard

1 tablespoon poppy seeds

1 teaspoon maple syrup

In a blender, toss all the ingredients together and mix until smooth. Add salt, pepper and the poppy seeds last. Store in a bottle in the fridge or use straight away !

THAI PEANUT DRESSING

We are big fans of thai flavors, and I tend to pour this sauce on just about anything.. It goes great with spring rolls, is wonderful on a big thai salad with soy sprouts, although my favorite might just be pouring it over a veggie pad thai. So many options for this creamy, sweet and savory sauce !

Makes 1 cup of dressing :

2 tablespoons natural peanut butter

1 teaspoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon maple syrup

1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon chili garlic sauce (optional)

1 - 3 tablespoons water

Place in a blender all of the ingredients except for the water, and mix well until smooth. You can then add water little by little until you reach the right consistency for your mood !

ORANGE AND APPLE CIDER VINEGAR SAUCE :

This dressing is sweet and fruity at it's best. I love to add it to fresh summer salads with fruits and nuts or on grainy moroccan style salads.

IMG_1516.jpg

Makes 1/2 cup of dressing :

3 tablespoons of olive oil

1 tablespoon orange juice

1 teaspoon grated orange peels

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Salt and pepper to taste

In a bowl, add all of your ingredients and mix well. You can stir it each time you have it ! Keeps in the fridge for weeks.

There you go ! All that is left is to pick your sauce and salad combo. You can double or triple any of these recipes to make bigger batches and keep in your fridge. I love how simple and healthy these vegan salad dressings are !

Have a wonderful week everyone xx
